Pop-ups are interactive overlays that can be automatically triggered when a member does something in your app, such as logging in, joining or marking content complete, making a purchase or clicking a button. They can be used to display important information, gather feedback, provide offers, or guide users through specific actions.

How to Create and Trigger Pop-Ups in Movement

Creating a Pop-Up

  1. Navigate to a Trigger Point: Start by navigating to any location within the admin where a pop-up can be triggered. This could be a button, linked text, the Post Sign Up or Post Purchase area in your Global Access settings, or the 'then' section of any action (see examples below).

2. Once you have selected ‘Trigger Pop Up’ from the dropdown, click on the [+Add Pop Up] button. This will open the Pop Up overlay, where you can create new popups, and edit your existing ones.

3. Pop-Up Editor: Once you hit the ‘Create Pop Up’ button from the Pop Ups overlay (or hit ‘Edit’ on an existing Pop Up) you will be dropped into the Pop Up editor, which is essentially a simplified version of the page builder. Here you can assign a title to your pop-up in the 'Title' input field located at the top left corner. You can also add and edit any blocks you like, just like the regular page builder, to design the content of your pop-up.

Best Practices for Designing Pop Ups

  • Keep it Simple: Ensure your pop-up is not overloaded with information. Keep the message clear and concise.

  • Call to Action: Include a strong call to action in your pop-up to encourage user engagement.

  • Design for Accessibility: Make sure the text is easily readable and contrasted against its background.

An example ‘Login Screen’ Pop Up that encourages users to purchase an app subscription.

Once you've created a pop-up, you can set it to trigger in any of the trigger points mentioned above by hitting [+Add Popup], selecting it from the Pop Ups Overlay, then hitting the [+Add] button.

💡 Pro Tip: Triggering a Pop Up (Or Form) from the ‘Then’ dropdown is a powerful way to combine multiple automated steps into one workflow.
