We’ve just released a new feature that will allow logged-in members to create their own posts on your community feeds. Other members can react or respond to this post in the same way as they can on posts created by you.
This Article will run you through the necessary steps to get your members posting on your feeds.
1. Create a Feed
If you need a quick refresher on how to set up a feed, click below. (You can also use an existing feed).
2. Toggle ‘Allow Member Posts’ on
Click on the Feed block. A righthand sidebar will open. At the top of the sidebar, toggle “Allow Members To Post” on.
This is what it will look like before being enabled on the feed:
And this is what it will look like after it is enabled on the feed:
3. New post and notification button
Here’s an example of what your members will see on a page containing a Feed block with ‘Allow Members To Post’ toggled on:
When members hit the [+ New Post] button, a popup will open that will allow them to title their post, write and format text, and upload an image. Enabling the notification button will allow members to receive push or email notifications whenever somebody posts, reacts or comments in the feed. (If they aren’t logged in, hitting the ‘New Post’ or ‘Enable Notification’ button will prompt them to log in first). This is what the New Post popup looks like:
4. actions menu
Tapping the three dot kebab icon in the top right of a post will open the ‘Actions’ menu. From here members can delete a post they created by hitting ‘Delete Post’. Trainers and Admins will also be able to delete any post made by members, allowing them to moderate the feed as they see fit. Other members can also reply to or like a post from this menu.
Feel free to have a go at our Test Feed to get a feel for this new functionality and experience what your members can now do.
