Search Filters
Updated over a month ago

Building on our robust search functionality, we are excited to introduce the 'Search Filters' feature, giving you and your members a more refined search experience.

With the new 'Display filters' option in the search block, you can now enable your members to narrow down their search results based on specific tags related to the content. Whether it's finding the perfect 'Breakfast' recipe or a 'High Protein' snack, the right content is just a tap away.

Setting up Search Filters:

  1. In the Movement admin, click on an existing search block (or add one if you haven’t already).

  2. You will notice a new 'Display Filters' option under the ‘Filters’ section of the search block in the righthand sidebar.

  3. Click the checkbox next to this to toggle this feature on.

💡 Note: If 'Display Filters', is not checked, the filter section will remain hidden to users.

4. Click the ‘+Select a tag’ input field.

5. From here you can add / create the tags that you wish to enable for filtering. These can be different from the tags set in your searchable list.

💡 Note: Members will only see the search results that contain tags matching both the 'Display Filters' they select and the 'With Tags' conditions you've defined.

6. Once you’ve added the filters you like, test out the Search block with the ‘Preview’ feature.

Using Search Filters:

  1. Upon opening the search modal, your members will find the Search Filter options that you have enabled underneath the search bar .

  2. Members can tap on a tag to filter search results by that specific category, or select multiple tags to combine filters, refining search results to content that includes all chosen tags.

  3. To remove a filter, members can simply tap the tag again or hit 'ALL' to clear all filters.

  4. The number of items that match the members selected tags will be displayed at the top right of the modal.

💡 Note: If no results match a member’s selected filters, an empty state message will ensure they’re never left wondering.

5. If ‘Display Filters’ is toggled on, but no tags are set for 'Display Filtering', member will see an ‘All’ filter in the search block. This will display all the content items that satisfy the content and tag parameters set out in the search block.
