Movement apps support web push across all devices–iOS, Android and Desktop.
Enabling push notifications
This capability is enabled by default, so you do not need to do anything in the Movement admin to ‘turn them on’.
However, your members will have to grant permission for you to send them push notifications. This can be done by them in their app if they navigate to You > View Account Details > Notifications, then tap Enable Push Notifications.
Members are currently prompted to sign up for push notifications when they download the app, send a message, register for an event and when they subscribe to a feed.
Updating iOS
For Apple users, the 'Enable Push Notifications' button will only be visible on your user’s notifications page if they are using iOS 16.4 or later. If they haven’t updated their iOS and enabled push notifications in the app, they won't be able to receive these notifications. Instead, all notifications will be automatically redirected to their email.
How to Update iOS Version on iPhone:
At any time, you can check for and install software updates.
Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update. The screen shows the currently installed version of iOS and whether an update is available. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one you want to install. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now.
Once your users have updated to iOS 16.4 or later they will be able to enable push notifications in their app and start receving notifcations you send them for event reminders, new messages, new comments and push campaigns (available on Pro plan only).
When push notifications are enabled, the notifications section should look like the following:
