The Exercises content type allows you to create custom exercises using your own videos and instructions. These exercises can be used throughout your app in content cards, libraries or as part of workouts created with our workout builder - allowing for interactive follow along workouts with inbuilt progress tracking.
Creating a new exercise
💡 Note: Before creating a new exercise, you might like to see if one already exists in the Movement Exercise Library and copy it across. This will save you time and you can edit the exercise as required. Click here for instructions.
3. A 'New Exercise' window will appear.
4. Give the exercise a Title, tags and a description (instructions) on how to perform it correctly.
5. You can optionally upload a banner image that will populate the thumbnail of the exercise. If you do not choose an image, it will be automatically populated by the thumbnail of your demonstration video.
Exercise demonstration and explainer videos.
Below the ‘Banner Image’ input area, you will also see two video input fields where you can upload a ‘Demonstration Video’ and an ‘Explainer Video’.
2. Demonstration Video: Select or upload a video that demonstrates how to perform the exercise. You can upload a video directly or link to a video from YouTube or Vimeo. This is the first video a user will see when accessing the exercise from a content card or as part of a workout:
3. Explainer Video: Select or upload a second video to provide additional explanation or tips for the exercise. This is optional but can enhance the experience by offering a place to give more detailed guidance on the movement, assisting your members in understanding how an exercise should be performed correctly and safely.
4. Check out the video below to see how members can open the exercise modal from a follow-along workout then click or swipe to switch between the demonstration and explainer video (and also view their past results for the exercise)
5. Feel free to test this exercise modal out using the live example exercise below:

💡 Note: If you only upload an explainer video the exercise will not display correctly in workouts and you will see the following screen.
