Enable different payment methods for your customers

Updated over 2 months ago

Movement automates processing in your app by integrating with Stripe, allowing for a seamless checkout experience for your members based on the default payment methods available, and the ones you've enabled in your Stripe dashboard.

What Payment Methods Are Available?

We utilize Stripe's dynamic payment method capabilities. This means the available payment methods for your members largely depend on the settings you've configured in your Stripe dashboard. If a payment method is supported by Stripe for the customer's location and payment type, and you have it enabled, it will automatically be available to your members at checkout.

Popular payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, China UnionPay and JCB payments from customers worldwide) are activated by default.

Other payment methods such as iDeal, Swish , SEPA and more can be enabled in your Stripe integration and, once activated, will appear as options during the checkout process.

How to Enable Payment Methods on Stripe

Enabling new payment methods to offer your members more options is straightforward. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Log in to Your Stripe Dashboard: https://dashboard.stripe.com/

  2. Navigate to Payment Methods: Look for the section where you can view and manage payment methods. This is can be found by navigating to Settings > Payments > Payment Methods.

  3. Enable New Payment Methods: In the Payment Methods 'Set Up' section, you’ll see a list of available payment methods. Toggle on the ones you want to offer your members by hitting the 'Turn on' button . Make sure to review the details, as some payment methods may have specific requirements or limitations based on location and purchase type.

  4. Any methods you activate will now be available for your members during the checkout process in your app ( if the payment method meets the specific requirements or limitations based on location and purchase type for that transaction.)

Automated Payment Method Display

When a customer proceeds to checkout in your app, our checkout flow automatically reads from your configured settings in Stripe. This ensures that any payment method you've activated and is applicable based on the transaction type and customer's geographical location will be displayed as an option.
